Please ensure that your mail server is using a properly signed certificate. Self signed certificates for mail servers are not supported by SmsToMailbox. You can also try disable the use of transport layer security (TLS) with your email server via Menu > Manual server setup > SMTP settings > SMTP use TLS if available. Afterwards SmsToMailbox will no longer try to establish a secure connection. If you still cannot connect to your mail server it is also possible to use one of the many available free mailers and just forward the SMS-emails to your custom mail server. If you own a rooted phone and are into IT, there is a solution described here on how to upload your self-signed root certificate into the Android phone (however this is not recommended by us, use solely at your own risk).
