Solution If you’re having problems connecting to the database (i.e. you get a failed connection in the ClockWork connection tool when you click the “Test connection…” button), the best way to troubleshoot is outside of ClockWork. You can create a database connection file using these steps: 1. create a file on the desktop called test.txt (right-click on the desktop, then New-Text Document). 2. change the extension of the file to “.udl”. You can change the extension by renaming the file and just editing the extension portion. Note that you may need to un-check “Hide extensions for known file types” in “My computer-Tools-Folder options-View-Hide extensions for known file types” to be able to see the .txt extension and change it. 3. double-click on the test.udl file – Windows now treats this as a special type of file that lets you connect to databases 4. Click on the “Provider” tab and ensure that “Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server” is selected 5. Click on the “Connection” tab and
