Honestly, shapeless, structureless tee shirt dresses don’t do anybody any favors. You might be tempted to wear items that don’t have structure so they don’t reveal a little extra chub, but they sort of gloss over everything and make even skinny girls look curveless and bigger than they really are. If you have a fairly feminine figure and carry your extra weight in the hips and thighs, you could probably pull off loose items (possibly with a skinny, subtle belt to cinch the waist in, or possibly just letting your hips do the work for you). Otherwise, I would lean toward dresses that define your figure with a nice, wide waistband (not elastic!) or other elements that add structure, such as darting. If you do decide to roll with the tee shirt dress look, you could try layering on top of it a light jacket/cardigan that is no longer than waist length. Even if it’s loose and flowy, it will visually define your figure.

It’s a nice dress, i love the print and it would be really comfortable, but it’s not ideal for slimming the silhouette. You’re better sticking to bold colours and cinching in the waist to create a shape. A baggy loose shape will just make everything look big. Also, footless tights will cut off the leg and make it look shorter and dumpier. You are much better going for a dark denier tight with the highest heel you can manage. Aside from lengthening the leg, high heels always make you feel glamorous and sexy. You need to show off your best bits and the eye will naturally be drawn away from your least favourite bits. Think big belts to pull in your waist, low neck necklines to show off your cleavage. If you’re pear-shaped, wear a short skirt to show off your legs. Also, Spanx make great underwear like tummy-control pants to pull in the bumpier bits and create a smooth line underneath. M&S do loads too. Gok Wan is the King of this – go and look up some of his shows on you tube for some tip
