In Sufi literature it is often prescribed that one needs to purify themselves, what does purification mean in Sufi context?
Purification in Sufism is of great importance. The bondage that each individual has created which consists of all the attachments such as greed, desires, jealousy, anger and other cellular interactions needs to be purified if one is to experience their true essence within the unlimited realm of life. Removal of these attachments and purifying the individual from all the impurities will allow the individual to separate from the harshness of this material being and allow them to experience their spiritual existence and gain stability.
