Texas has nothing to do with this. The FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) says that a salaried exempt employee must be paid for partial days worked. The company can pay you with PTO, Vacation Pay or regular wages. The Department of Labor does not care which pot the money comes from but you must be paid. If you are off a full day you do not need to be paid.
