In the data sheet of the Short Report Partner, the last set of data states an Ascendant which is completely different to either of the two natal horoscopes. Is that a calculation error?
No, it isn’t. The final set of data refers to the composite chart of the two natal charts. It is an abstract chart which reflects the relationship between two people as a third entity. For each planet the midpoint of both natal charts is calculated, these are then shown as a chart drawing. Composite charts are computed constellations, they do not represent a real astronomical situation. The composite Ascendant can be calculated in two different ways: a) Either one can use the latitude of a place of reference, or b) one can use the midpoint of both Ascendants.
