The strength in which was demonstrated in abolition and women’s rights in early America was that although there was a written constitution, the US government was flexible enough to change laws and amendments due to changes in ideas over time. Even though the people of America can change, the weakness was that changes took a long time and needed a clear majority to be able to reform and although when the amendments were changed, the people still sometimes hold prejudices against the issue.
