Practically all of our magnets are magnetised parallel to the shortest side. There are a few exceptions (e.g., Q-19-13-06-LN) which are specially described in the article descriptions. This means: For blocks, the poles are normally on the largest surfaces. For discs and rods, the poles are on the circular surface area. This is also called "axial" magnetisation. The rings are - unless otherwise noted - also axially magnetised. The poles lie on 2 opposite surface areas of the cubes. Likewise, the spheres have 2 opposite poles, much like the globe.  more
