It seems to me that the President of Iran simply loves to stir up s**t just to get the Americans going. And so far it has succeeded. However, the people of Iran are not fooled and know an idiot when they see one.The REAL issue is this: At the present moment there is a power vacuum in the Middle East. When the US pulls out of Iraq, it will be even greater and Iran wants to fill that role as a major Shiite country. A majority of Middle Eastern countries support them as well. Flaunting the nuclear card simply raises the stakes. So they get the bomb; so what? They’re not stupid, they know that as soon as they use it or attempt to use it the country is a parking lot. So don’t get caught up in all the rhetoric coming out of Fox News or CNN. It’s not what you think. Better to do some in depth research from other sources and get a true picture of what is really going on. The websites below are good sources.

You should seriously look at two of your answers, Jimmie C and Its That Guy because they both understand the international politics of the parties involved. The Iranian President is trying to save face because he is always humiliated by the U.S. with their sanctions threats, their warships off his coast, their spy planes, etc. etc. He is President and has to have respect of his countrymen. What his religious followers like to hear is anything against Jews and Israel. He is a learned man and knows that any remarks about Holocaust will antagonize the U.S. that is his way of saving face. He knows the holocaust occurred and has said many times the Israelis are taking out on the Palestinians retribution for what the Nazis did to the Jews in Europe in WWII.Iran is not threatening any country. If they have to build nuclear weapons it will be because the UK and the US and Israel are colluding to provoke him to a war mode so they can justify an attack. What the US and UK are doing is provoking
