Is 121 inches (average) a lot of rainfall in one year?

Not really. There are places that receive a lot more. The highest peaks of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, for example, receive an average of over 250 inches per year. Mt. Waialeale in Hawaii receives 486 inches of rain per year. If the rain is clean and not acidic, then it’s just water, and it’s no problem to be out in the rain. It can even be very enjoyable. So no, it’s not a lot of rain, unless it’s acid rain, when you may want to watch how much of a dose you get. Also, 121 inches of rain probably also means it’s cloudy, and thus pretty pleasant, most of the time!
