Yes, 2" O.D. (outside diameter) is the optimum size pipe for central vacuums. Please note: To ensure trouble free operation the use of regular plumbing schedule 40 pipe is NOT recommended. The specifications for Central Vacuum PVC pipe are: 2" (outside diameter), 0.065" wall thickness.
