depends on how big if there are kids around (3-6) them not such a good idea but yes they would be ok for first time owners and even if there are kids you can get a 5lb and they make great pets but i wouldn’t keep them in a yard if you live by someone with bigger dogs id say go for it my mom has a little 2lb girl named pixie and we all love her we also raise them so if you live in texas here you go www.texaspuppies.net hope i helped 🙂
