Is a CV (Curriculum Vitae) that important?
With a good CV you will be able to promote yourself. Imagine the CV as being a brochure that will list the benefits of a particular service. The service being your time and skills! When writing a CV, look at it from the reader’s point of view. Will you stand out among others? Though networking is essential for graduate school and professional success, your CV is the first step in both of these. Your CV will often be the first contact you have a potential mentor/advisor, research collaborator, employer, etc. and you want it to help open doors.
