Is a flex pipe part of the exhaust manifold?

0

Hello Patricia. Just for clarification, the manifold is the cast iron part that attaches directly to the head of the engine and directs the flow of the exhaust away into the exhaust system itself. Any flex pipe would have to be much further back in the system due to the direct temperatures of the exhaust gases. Right at the exhaust port, temps can rise to over 3000 degrees, which is why the manifold is cast iron. As far as the lemon law, yes, various states have used car lemon laws also, but as Trooper says above, a part of the exhaust system is just wear and tear, much the same as your tires or brakes. If you feel your vehicle falls under the lemon law provisions, I would suggest addressing this with an attorney for the rights in your state.
