Is a Visa required to non EU Nationals entering Italy for tourism or business stays up to 90 days?
It is not. The maximum stay permitted in the Schengen area is 90 days within a given 180 day period. When the Non EU Citizen is NOT subjected to any Visa obligation, the entry to Italy is without any pre-arrival process. On the contrary, if the non EU Citizen should obtain a Visa to enter Europe, an application at the Italian Consulate in the country of residence/origin for a short-term entry Visa, known as Schengen Visa is required.
