Is achieving Y2K compliance sufficient?
Even if all computers are made Year 2000 ready, there are many outside factors to consider including suppliers and vendors, transportation carriers, data transmissions, customer chains, business issues and investments such as 401K and pension plans. When assessing risk it is important to remember that nobody is ever fully compliant. Because there are so many interdependencies there can be absolutely no guarantees anyone is free from Y2K-related interruptions or failure in operations.
