Is acrylic paint okay to use in an air brush?

0

There are acrylic airbrush paints which are in liquid form. The tubed paints are not recommended for airbrush because they contain agents that are designed to bulk up the paint, enhance brush-ability and to retain the integrity of the brushstrokes. It is worth investing in an acrylic flow enhancer sometimes called “a release” for airbrushing acrylic paint. Liquid/Fluid acrylic tends to clog more often than the hydrocarbon based paints like Com-Art. Using water weakens the binding quality of the polymer. The flow enhancer is made of a thinner viscosity binder so instead of just thinning everything down by diluting the paint you are just using a thinned binder. Golden Fluid Acrylics work particularly well with an airbrush.
