"Universal healthcare" isn't necessarily a bad thing in the sense that affordable healthcare coverage is expanded to the majority of Americans. It's just a matter of approach I think. Many equate universal coverage with a single-payer system but countries like Switzerland and Germany have shown that you can have universal coverage without a single-payer system.
