Is America Ready for the Interracial Romance Novel, Ivys Twisted Vine?

I can only access the first few chapters, but from what I’ve read, it seems that this book is creating conversations because it does steer away from obvious racial tension before you can get to know that characters. I hope that there is some conversation about race in this book, because it is a part of life. However, I am looking forward to reading an interracial novel that focuses on more than just – oh, he’s white and I’m black. So what should we do – and I haven’t read many interracial novels that can manage to do that. This is a new author, so she has promise. Plus, from looking at her myspace page attached to her website, she understands what interracial relationships involve because she is in an interracial marriage. Maybe she’s the next Sandra Kitt.
