Is an ear ache a symptom of a sinus infection?

0

An ear ache is a symptom of an ear infection. Most middle ear infections (Otitis Media) are caused when the Eustachian tube becomes blocked. The Eustachian tube connects the middle ear to the throat. When it is blocked the middle ear is not properly ventilated. Sinus infection can cause this type of ear infection, but it may be caused by something else as well. In either case, the ear ache is the symptom of the ear infection, not the sinus infection. Also an ear ache may be caused by an infection of the ear canal (Otitis Externa). This type of infection, commonly called swimmers ear, is normally caused by water becoming trapped in the ear canal. It has nothing to do with the sinuses.
