Is an email a legally binding contract?
e-mails can be part of a contract. There is the issue of establishing that they were actually real but that is no different than establishing that statements made verbally were actually made. The issue would be whether the additional promises were part of the contract or separate. I think that would be easy to overcome but I’d need to look at everything to know for sure. The issue that will stop you from doing anything though is cost and time. All work from home stuff that requires an outlay of money is a scam of some kind. They are smart though in that they keep the amount low enough that it is not worth suing them. Also the people who are attracted to these scams are also the kind of people who are least able to sue them. You are out $1000 to sue them in small claims it is going to take at least 6 months and in some jurisdictions over a year. The costs will be between $100-400 depending on where you live.
