I purchased an anise plant this spring and the blooms were purple instead of white as pictured. You have anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) instead of anise (Pimpinella anisum). Anise hyssop is a perennial that keeps on coming back in the strangest places. It grows to about three feet tall with a spread of about one foot, making it ideal for a container.
