Is anyone successfully breastfeeding and supplementing with formula?

0

Based on your other post, it doesn’t sound like the two are successfully mixing at this point! There are some moms of older babies who supplement with formula when they’re away from baby, either because they choose not to or cannot pump enough. However at three weeks, I’d say chances are good that you’ll sabotage your efforts to breastfeed with the formula and bottles. Formula companies know that this often happens. That’s why the handouts and free samples you get from them at the hospital encourage you to “let dad or grandma feed a bottle of formula” once a day to give yourself a break. This advice has destroyed many breastfeeding relationships and made a lot of money for formula companies.
