Is APA or MLA writing style easier?

I too have only used APA. It’s a scientific writing style, and is very prescriptive. It leaves you in no doubt how to format statistics, numbers, references and citations. It also doesn’t vary from college to college. I have used harvard and found it to be too lose after using APA – Harvard does vary from college to college and can leave you unsure of how to format things. Looking at MLA on wiki, one of the big differences is that if in APA I was citing, but not directly quoting, an author, I would put (Author, Date) as the in-text. In MLA, you always have to give the page number, (Author 233). If you’re a perfectionist, APA is the go.
