Is borax the same as flour?

No, borax is not the same as flour. Borax is used as a cleaning agent as well; it should be available from hardware stores or even some chain stores.

Borax is found in 20 mule team borax, or Boraxo in the laundry section. There are some interesting experiments with it and Elmers glue and a couple other ideas.

Borax is a mineral. You dig it out of the ground in a mine. Flour is ground up wheat. Not the same. Sorry. If the experiment you saw used borax I’m pretty sure you’d need borax. If you’re unwilling to buy any (it’s not expensive, BTW) then you’re pretty much out of luck. Again, sorry.

Borax is for cleaning! Trust me! I learned that the hard way.
