Yes, the Building Regulations changed in January 2005 to include electrical work so an application should be made or alternatively, more simply and quickly the electrical works can carried out by a competent person registered with an approved Part P self certification scheme who can design, install, test and certify the works comply with the requirements of part P Electrical safety.
