Is Calcium D-Glucarate an essential nutrient?

0

Calcium D- Glucarate is not an essential nutrient so, technically, you can not have a deficiency. However, it is only produced in small amounts in the human body, so adequate dietary supplementation is important. Diets low in fruits (particularly oranges, apples and grapefruit) and cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts) may result in a relative deficiency of Calcium D-Glucarate. Research has shown that low levels of D-Glucaric acid are associated with higher levels of beta-glucuronidase, which increases risk for various cancers.
