Is cat litter ok for bunny cage?

0

It depends on the kind of cat litter but generally no. If you use the clumping cat litter it will form a disturbing and smelly clump in your rabbits cage which neither you or the rabbits will enjoy. If you use the cardboard style, environmentally-friendly sort of cat littler your rabbits will eat it which is bad because it’s not good for them. If you use crystals you’ll probably kill them because rabbits will naturally attempt to eat it. The best thing is just to buy dried grass or hay for your rabbits, it’s better for them, retains heat well when needed, yet keeps it cooler when also needed and it’s much cheaper than your average cat litter and lasts longer. The cheapest cat litter out there is home brand which is about $2, the cheapest dried grass/hay out there is $6 for a bundle. But you’ll have to clean it daily if you use cat litter whereas with hay you can get away without doing it for almost a week. Hope this helps!
