Is crown molding on vaulted ceilings tacky?

The ceilings in m house are of varying heights. The crown molding runs around many of the rooms and follows the ceiling's contour. It looks great. However, when you get to the more extreme angles you have to cut a triangular piece so the molding matches up.  more
