Is DAE making efforts towards extension of life of the reactors?

Yes. Studies are being carried out for extension of economic life of all reactors. Although originally reactors were estimated to have 25-30 years of economic life, experience has shown that it could very well be increased to 40 to 50 years or more in stages making sure in every stage that safety is not compromised. For two reactors in UK, life has been increased from 40 to 50 years.
