Is dyspareunia the same as vaginismus?
Different from vaginismus, but certainly they can exacerbate each other. Lindor, rather than trying with your doctor–who, no offense, sounds like an insensitive clod–you might try to locate a women’s health center, perhaps someplace that offers a range of services including counseling and referrals to sympathetic physicians.I think you would benefit from a specialist rather than a pcp. If you could speak with a counselor about the trouble you are having, including with the doctor, she should be able to refer you to a doctor that will be right for you. Another thing you might try is start following informational links, then look to see about physician referrals on the site.
