When considering epidemiology, it's critically important not to get carried away with lurid details about a given pathogen, and focus on the overall picture. While Ebola certainly is dramatic, and the entertainment industry has madea a killing with it (pardxon the pun) the overall number of Ebola-related deaths is a tiny fraction of those cause by HIV/AIDS. typhus, malaria, small pox and a wide variety of less sexy but ultimately more deadly diseases.
