Is English linguistics postgraduate admission competition to a UK university very fierce?
I studied English and Linguistics about 8 years ago now and a friend of mine went on to do her postgrad course pretty easily. The main competition is over the quality of the institution you want to go to, but with the advent of fees in the UK system now there is a better opportunity to get the course you want as only the serious people are really applying. Universtiy of Westminster and UCL have very good linguistics departments.
