I had a major virus about 2 months ago when I was running AVG and had to have my hard drive wiped. PC world who did the biz & fixed it said the only thing at the moment that would have stopped the virus would have been Nod32. They said it was the best on the market at the moment. Unfortunately it is not free except for a trial version see the link below to the site. I have been trouble free since then and it has picked up loads of stuff but it is quite a drain when it scans.
