Is executive branch responsible for running of the country and for passing the laws of the country ?

The executive branch of the country is the President. Now the branch that makes and passes the laws is the legislative branch. The legislative branch in made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The bill (or future law) introduced into the House of Representatives, if the majority votes for the bill it then goes to the Senate. The bill is then introduced to the Senate, if a majority of the Senate votes for the bill it then goes to the President for his signature or veto. If the President signs the bill it becomes the law of the land. If the President vetoes the bill it then goes back to the Senate to see if it the veto can be over written. Unless this is done the bill is dead.
