this is not a serious question anymore, the only people who deny it are those bought and paid for by the big oil companies, and even big oil wont admit to knowing them, they farm them out to rush and glennbeck to spread the word among those types who will believe them. Of course, by moving away from polluting fossil fuels, and the terrorist arab goverments who control most of it, we can build jobs here with new infrastructures and inventions. Using only a small fraction of the goverment subsidies to big oil we could start whole new industries and regain the respect we have squandered.

The recession has slowed down global warming because industry has cut back on oil consumption. In N Ireland greenhouse gases have been cut by 19% because fewer people are using cars as much. There is clearly a rorelation between the burning of fossil fuels and global warming – the documentarys you refer to do not disprove the link.

Do fossil fuels cause global warming? No Do fossil fuels contribute to global warming? yes. There is no scientific consensus about how much. There is a scientific consensus that global temperatures rose by about half a degree centigrade in the 20th century, and that CO2 levels also rose, but correlation does not prove causation. There is no scientific consensus about how much of this temperature rise is due to human carbon emissions, neither is there any about how much warming will happen in the future, of whether it will be beneficial or harmful. The ‘man made, catastrophe soon’ story is a political doctrine, not science The increase in global temperatures have slowed down and gone into reverse during the last decade. This has happened despite the continued increase in human carbon emissions, and clearly demonstrates that they do not control global temperatures. A meteorologist colleague of mine at the Arctic Research Institute estimated that the human contribution to global temperatu
