Is guinea pig bedding compostable?

0

Hi Amelia, This question has been coming up a lot recently! The answer is YES, you can compost most of your piggie’s bedding! I do it all the time, yes, it is an awful waste. Before my mum got a compost bin I put it in a heap beside the tree, which is a good alternative if you don’t have a compost bin yet. You can compost all of the following: -Hay -Wood chips/sawdust (you should really have wood chips) -A little newspaper (see below) -Uneaten/leftover veggies Cannot compost the following: -Large amounts of newspaper -Dry food The dry food may encourage rats, mice or other wild animals. Too much newspaper won’t compost down properly. HOPE I HELPED!
