Is Harvey Mudd College More Than Holds Its Own Against Harvard?
Harvey Mudd College looks like a place I would like to go, if I were just starting college. Of course, I know that promotional material is made to make you feel that way but somehow there is integrity to the literature. We’re looking at Harvey Mudd College because of an instrument called PayScale. Catherine Rampell has written an article on The New York Times titled “Do Elite Colleges Produce the Best-Paid Graduates?” The reason this topic has become of interest is due to the fact that there has been a refinement in PayScale that averages the starting salary of graduates as well as mid-career pay. The immediate question is: Is it just as good to go to say Harvey Mudd College as Harvard where the tuition is so much more? Is the Harvard name worth that much?
