• Does the school have a good understanding of TS and related disorders? You might want to suggested that they have an inservice regarding TS if there is a TSA chapter near you that provides these or by contacting TSA for information regarding Education inservices. TSA has produced a DVD Education Inservice which is available on request, or for online viewing. If an education inservice is not an option, you might want to suggest that everyone involved with your son view the video with Sue Conners titled “A Teacher Looks at Tourette Syndrome” and “I Have Tourette’s but Tourette’s Doesn’t Have Me” – both available in our online store. Of more concern is whether the school is or is not providing appropriate supports than having your son be held accountable. If he refuses to go to school – there is a reason and from our experiences with other students, a good guess is that it is related to his anxiety.
