Is “Heart of Darkness” an indictment of colonialism…?

0

Princeton defines colonialism as “exploitation by a stronger country of weaker one; the use of the weaker country’s resources to strengthen and enrich the stronger country” They define indictment as “an accusation of wrongdoing” …so calling it an indictment of colonialism would be saying that the book is claiming that it is a bad thing for stronger countries to take advantage of weaker countries. I assume you know what racism is. A parable is a story that can be used to teach a point, kind of an object lesson, if you will. So assuming you’ve read the book, or are working on reading it, what do you think the purpose of it is? …is it racism or politics or some of both?
