I have done the very thing you are talking about many times. What you need is a heat shrink sleeve. What you do is take off the orginal replacement grip and expose the bare handle of the racket. Then you slide the heat shrink sleeve over the handle and you use a hot hair dryer or glue gun and go over the sleeve for about 30 minutes as it shrinks to fit the handle. Then using an exacto knife, scalpal or razor blade like I use and cut off the excess around the butt cap. Then put your replacement grip back on your racket if it still has its adhesion/sticky side left after removal. Heat shrink sleeves are rather expensive, about $3 each. If you need any, I still have like 3 of them left from my last order of 10. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.
