IS HEDI SLIMANE LEAVING YVES SAINT LAURENT?
PARIS — Rumors, unconfirmed at this point, are rife in Paris that Yves Saint Laurent men’s designer Hedi Slimane is unhappy at the house and is considering leaving. Neither Slimane nor executives at Saint Laurent, which is now owned by Gucci Group, could be reached for comment on Tuesday, and a spokesman for the house said the house “does not comment on rumors.” Despite a collection two weeks ago that earned unanimous raves and warm words from Tom Ford, one source indicated that Slimane had recently expressed unhappiness with the new creative hierarchy at Saint Laurent, in which he reports directly to Ford.
