IS HILLARY CLINTONS HEALTH CARE PROPOSAL TRUE REFORM?
October 11, 2007 Health care will be the defining domestic policy issue of the 2008 presidential contest, and Hillary Clinton’s American Health Choices Plan is the best proposal for reforming our ailing health care system because it covers every American, while also improving health care quality and making insurance more affordable for all. Much has been made of Clinton’s last attempt to bring affordable coverage to every American nearly 15 years ago as first lady. Since then, the moral necessity to address this issue has become even greater as the number of uninsured has swelled to 47 million Americans. The economic necessity has also grown as health care costs continue to soar, placing a tremendous financial burden on families and employers alike, and putting us at a competitive disadvantage in the global economy.
