Is India – Pakistan war imminent?
December 23, 2001 The Bush war on terrorism has taken a new turn. It is possible that a real war could erupt between the two nuclear powers, Pakistan and India. It is not going to be one way traffic as was the case in the American Afghanistan war. It is going to be a war, full of blood on both sides, not seen by the world for many years. Minor border clashes have already taken place and the air force of both countries is on high alert. There have been reports of massive army presences on both sides of the borders. The spokespersons of both governments are speaking the war language. The Indian government has taken initial steps like recalling the Indian Ambassador, suspension of the only Friendship bus service and four times weekly train between Delhi and Lahore. The Vajpai and Nawaz Sharif governments initiated the bus service during 1998 as a token gesture of newly found friendship after they met at Lahore.
