Is individual paranoia “catching/communicable”? Does a group suffering from paranoia become a crowd suffering from mass hysteria?

This is a very complex question, because individual paranoia is not transmittable, but for some reason when people get together in large groups, studies show some how people all have some large mass collective thinking that takes place. Almost like a disease that spreads in the mind and causes irrational thinking to take over and percieve danger, which in turns causes fear, which exites the group even farther and in turn cause mass hysteria. the only way individual parnioa spreads is by the one who is paranoid convincing the subject that there is a reason to be paranoid and/or the actions of said paranoid person, somehow convinces the non-paranoid individual with the perception that what ever is to be worried of is actually going to happen.
