If the wedding is in the late afternoon or evening, it would most certainly be appropriate for your Mom to wear a long gown, unless your gown was tea length too. If the wedding is in the morning, it is probably more appropriate for your Mom to wear a suit with a shorter skirt. But truly, if you and your Mom are happy with her gown choice and she feels beautiful, it really shouldn’t matter.
