Is it a good idea to purchase an older Chihuahua?
This can be an excellent way to add a Chihuahua to your family, but experts and owners caution you to be aware of the need for Chihuahuas to be socialized to people and other animals. The Chihuahua is intensely loyal to one owner and can be aggressive to other breeds of dog. Getting a puppy from a breeder that properly raises and socializes the young dog is ideal, but many Chihuahua owners have had wonderful experiences with older dogs from rescue and rehabilitation sources.
