Is it a good thing that drug laws are so ineffective at keeping pot out of kids hands?

I don’t know how easy it is for kids to get anything nowadays, but I know they’re all getting it somehow. Back in “my day” (oh brother!), either (pot or booze) was easy to get, BUT we looked at it like this: pot was cheaper, easier to conceal, easier to control (the degree of buzz, that is), less addictive, and caused less of an “aftermath” than booze. Meaning, I’ve never known anyone to go smoke a joint, then get all ticked off and pick a fight with the guy next to him, or take off driving in a rage, or other violent behavior. PLUS, another biggie, no hangover. Yes, I “secretly” hope that if my teenager is going to dabble in something that it is pot over booze (if I had to CHOOSE one vice over the other). No, I don’t want her to end up a “stoner” AND I don’t want her to smoke cigarettes. IF put on a polygraph I would admit to her that it wouldn’t freak me out so bad if she smoked pot once in awhile compared to finding out she was drinking regularly.
