Is it better for the child to breast-feed them or give them formula?
Breastfeeding is better. There are a myriad of benefits to breastfeeding and they have yet to create a formula that can match mother’s milk. Here are only some of the benefits; enhances the vaccine response, provides perfectly balanced nutrition, lessens the chance of ear infection or recurrent respiratory infection, lessens chance of allergies (at the time and in the future), protects newborn from Herpes simplex virus II,. Breastfeeding protects from illnesses in general, and enhances the immune response. Mothers milk naturallly contain antibodies and immune factors that are not present in formula. As well, the fat and protein molecules present in breastmilk are designed for easier digestion for babies. The fat and protein molecules in formula, specifically cow -milk based formula are difficult for babies to digest and many develop digestion problems as they get older, and dairy allergies. Soy-based formula is also suspect because of the lack of important immunological factors as well
