They announced just this past week that the HD-DVD’s we falling out of production in favor of the Blu-Ray. Personally I had guessed that Blu-Ray would lose out just because it looked like Sony had made some similar blunders with Blu-Ray that reminded me of the whole VHS v. Beta Max battle way back when. But, I fall on my sword and admit I guessed wrong. Article in today’s news on the topic: Not surprisingly, Onkyo Corp. has announced that it will stop the development and production of HD DVD players following Toshiba’s announcement that it has conceded the format. Since core parts of the company’s players were supplied by Toshiba, it would be difficult for the company to continue production. Thus far, Onkyo has distributed and sold about 2,000 HD DVD players; and the company says that it will continue to provide full product support and after-sales service for all current owners of Onkyo HD D
